![]() ![]() Then those idiots who insulted me getting their butts handed to them when the developers confirmed what I asked, and they felt like idiots themselves. I think it got 120 replies, almost all of it was either personal insults or me retaliating to those insults, with about 6 or 7 people supporting me. I'm glad the devs confirmed something would happen! Yeah, a lot of people just hated it for some reason. If you never use it (Which I even forgot to do through a playthrough), the Sunbeam will never show up. The activation of the Sunbeam event is through the communicator. People failed to realize, not only is it entirely possible to disable the gun before the Sunbeam arrives, it's not even that far from the main story path. Whether it is saved or destroyed by other means, it is a different path if you disable the gun first. It got a lot of hate and backlash, but the developers confirmed it would happen one way or another. Weve tracked your distress signal, but your ships left a giant debris field up in orbit, we cant attempt a landing. If you do disable the gun before it arrives, they will say this: 'Aurora survivors, this is trading ship Sunbeam. Originally posted by dwcuyle:I actually posted about this before, asking it to be implemented. Basically, the gun still shoots them down regardless. I believe the devs put in an auto trigger for the SunBeam and when it gets close enough you get a message through your PDA or something that says they're coming in for a landing. but it's nice that something will be added to the game for people who do manage to disable it beforehand! It'd be cool if it gets destroyed by something else and you can explore another giant ship like the Aurora, haha. ![]() It sucks that people are rude to others just for an opinion. Oh, I forgot you could delay the ship arrival. During EA it was possible to shut down the defensive platform and 'save' the sunbeam and get the message that they cant land due to orbital debris field. ![]() ![]() The activation of the Sunbeam event is through the communicator. Seems like something the devs didn't foresee because it definitely should be possible to save Sunbeam but in the game's current state, it's not possible. I actually posted about this before, asking it to be implemented. I think it would be a little difficult to do all the stuff necessary to disable the gun but maybe that's just me :') RIP guys, I feel bad for the Sunbeam people. Considering that the Sunbeam was coming down to land right on the QEP (hence why you have the beacon to go there), and was low enough that they were ~10 seconds from landing and could see the island and the QEP itself (so not like it was blown up in orbit like the Aurora was), the likelihood of any major wreckage (and/or lifepods) landing in the crater would have been reasonably high (not guaranteed, but certainly not million-to-one) And if the Ancients mod having the Garg snatch the ship out of the sky after it was hit? Even if that's considered popular canon by the community that's still out in the void not to mention the same scene shows lifepods ejecting, INSIDE the void as well, they wouldn't have survived five seconds out there with the Garg and Adult Ghosts out there harassing them.Įdit: oh and the chances of that ship even landing on the island was small anyway given the pilot literally said this while the radio message was still playing.Originally posted by Anjach:That's really sad, I thought that would be a special ending for people who are like, experts on the game. Originally posted by Cursed Hawkins:Even if someone did survive, the chances of them crash landing on the same small 2kmx2km piece of land your ship managed to crash land on is a million to one. ![]()
